Minor Description
The Dance Minor is designed to provide students with a scope of experiences in dance that include studio technique, creative studio studies and dance theory. The student selecting a Dance Minor should arrange to meet with the academic advisor in dance prior to enrolling for classes.
Total Minor Hours - 24 Hours
Core Courses - 20 Hours
Studio Technique (10 credit hours):
Select 10 credits hours from the following list:
- DAA 2204 Ballet I
- DAA 3214 Ballet II
- DAA 3209 Ballet III
- DAA 4211 Ballet IV
- DAA 2104 Modern Dance I
- DAA 3108 Modern Dance II
- DAA 3109 Modern Dance III
- DAA 4110 Modern Dance IV
- DAA 2504 Jazz Dance
- DAA 4930 Dance Studies
- Studio Dance courses may be repeated once toward the Dance Minor.
Creative Studio Studies (4 credit hours):
Select 4 credits hours from the following list:
- DAA 3624 Dance Improvisation
- DAA 3614 Choreography I*
- DAA 3615 Choreography II*
- *Music for Dance is a prerequisite for Choreography and instructor approval is required.
Dance Theory (6 credit hours):
Select 6 credits hours from the following list:
Elective Courses - 4 Hours

Grade Requirment
The student choosing a Dance minor must achieve a grade of C or better in all courses applied to the minor in Dance.
